The Water Flows!

We have water! The new solar panels are all hooked up and the pump is running - filling up the cistern. We hooked up the plumbing temporarily to a frost-proof standpipe in the yard and ran the water for awhile in case there was dirt and sand in the well from the drilling. The water came out beautifully clean.

We filled the tank for the house yesterday and today we will fill the tank for the bathhouse. We have visitors this week, so we aren't going to do the more permanent plumbing until they are gone. That will involve having no showers for a few days - or maybe as long as a week, depending on how the plumbing work goes. We don't want to subject guests to that.

In the meanwhile, it is very satisfying to have all this water without having to drive to the neighbor's house. All that chaos and work were worth it.
